2’ plastic rods

Hello, new to the forum and to RVing! We bought a 2019 2860ds sunseeker and have taken two small trips. We leave Saturday for an eight week adventure around the country.

My questions is: there are three 2’ plastic rods that I have no idea what there purpose is. I can’t find anything in the owners manual. What do these go to? They look like really short closet rods, or shower curtain rods.

Thanks for the help!

Are they adjustable with rubber or plastic feet on both ends?

If so, they are accessory tension rods you can use within cabinets or if short enough within the refrigerator or freezer to keep items in place especially during travel.

You can buy more on Amazon, at your dealer, Camping World, etc.

Good choice in motorhomes.

Do they look like this?
If so it's what "parise" said above.

Chris, thank you for helping out. The rods do not expand, nor do they fit in the fridge, shower or cabinets.

I think they must be tension rods though! I’m going to keep playing with them but it’s been frustrating thinking you know what they’re for and not able to find a place to use them!

Just a swag, but I have seen rods like you describe used to hold the slides in place during delivery transport. Most dealers toss them out upon delivery.
Pictures might help.

They are indeed to hold the slide out in place when closed, they will fit on top of the slide between the wall of the RV and trim piece that goes along the top of the slide. I never used the ones in our Sunseeker, and the Mirada does not have them.

I always chuckle when people say "I have the exact same rig and mine doesn't do that or work that way".

Since I have the same make and model, different year, I dont have any such slide closer or wedge rods nor has my dealer ever said anything about them, or using them. And I had my dealer inspect my slides last year prior to investing in some upgrades and he said they're in fine shape.

The manual which came with my RV, although it's a generic manual, doesn't say anything about using rods (to keep the slides closed??) Nor did the dealer on the delivery walk through.

I'd ask the dealer what the rods are for.

Before using these rods as a wedge between the slide room and the slide wall consider what would happen if you extended the room without removing the rod - you could do some real damage to the wall, slide out room, or any collateral objects.

Laughing a little at this but it could be a serious situation if the rods are used improperly
