2015 Cherokee M39R Destination Trailer - Water runs off directly into slider door

Hi - I just bought and had this unit delivered. It rained the day after setup and I immediately noticed all the water from the awning (in or out) runs down the side of the trailer and if you open the sliding glass door it is splashing into the camper. Does anyone have a successful suggestions to stop this flow of water right into the door opening. Thanks.

hard to imagine water running down the side of the trailer with the awning over the silver opened. Have the dealer check and make sure the awning is properly secured and sealed to the side of the trailer. or an RV tech do the check

Hi! Thanks for the reply. The water isn't actually draining off the awning, it's coming off the roof, down the side of the camper but due to the end of the awning being directly above the slide door it creates even more drainage right onto the slider door opening. If you open the slider door while it's raining the door track is full of water and it splashes into the camper. Seems like a pretty poor design.

You may be able to fashion a couple of gutter spouts at each end of the awning rail to direct the water out and away from the wall and your slider give it some thought.

I have a similar problem on a Wildwood DLX. The issue is a separation in the awning rail above the door. It caused a continuous drip. I fixed it with a piece of vinyl J channel. I cut a piece longer than the door and attached it with Gorilla Tape. I stuck it just below the rail under the open awning and it diverts the water around the door. It has been working for two years. I will probably have to replace the tape in a few years but it is a 5 minute fix.
