2016 onan 4000 gen code?

I have a 2016 sandstorm travel trailer, Onan generator has 35 hours on it. When I push the start button either inside the trailer or on the generator I get a three blink error code. That error code is for "service generator." I release the button then press again and again and it will finally crank and start. Since everything is very new and all looks to be perfectly fine I can't figure out why it gives this code. I have changed the oil, wondering if I need to program the oil change into it? I do press the button to stop position to begin the fuel pump and whatever else that does.
