The Crested Cactus is a rare find in the Cacti families. We found 2 Crested Saguaro and a crested Organ Pipe Cactus. I will post them all separate so they are not too small.Click image for larger version

You should be able to tell the crest is much bigger on this Cactus. I did not have the right lens with me to get a more detailed pic.Click image for larger version

This is a pic of the crested Organ Pipe Cactus. You may have to loo closely to see it because it is not large like the one on the Saguaro.Click image for larger version

We visited an Oasis in the desert called Quito Baquito. It is a spring fed pond. It is 14 miles into the desert and probably less than 100 yards from the Mexican Border. It is fed by a spring in the nearby mountains. There is a species of fish living in the pond called Pup Fish. This is the only place they are found in the U.S. The Organ Pipe Cactus is only found in this location in the U.S.Click image for larger version

This pond never dries up because the spring from the mountains always flows. It is about a foot deep and crystal clear. They do advise not to drink the water though.Click image for larger version

We are now in Tucson for the week. We plan to visit Biosphere 2. We will drive through Saquaro National Park but we have done that before. We can never get enough of the Saquaro. Don't really know what else we may do. I'm having second thoughts about visiting Silver City NM. because of colder weather. I came here to get away from cold weather. This may be our only chance to visit though.
Ependydad I'm glad you are still enjoying the posts.

Have a meal at Mi Nidito in South Tucson while you are there. Will make me jealous.

Thank's to dblr and Love-to-campp for still following along. We will try Mi Nidito. Thanks for the tip azfansincc. We are always looking for great local eateries. Have you ever eaten at La Posta In Old Messilla in Las Cruces. That is our favorite Mexican restuarant so far.

Camper70, great journey, and photos! Nice travelogue of the places you visit, you should get some kind of compensation from the campground and town recommendations. However, in retrospect that would probably take all of the fun out of it for you!

Thank's to Ortep and sherman12 for following along. Glad to hear you are enjoying the pics and info. I am trying to provide as much info as possible. If anyone has any questions about something you can just send me a PM. I do sometimes forget to add info. We did go to Biosphere 2 yesterday It was very interesting. Some of the things they talked about were a little to technical for me and went right over my head. The research they are doing is simply amazing. I have some pics I will post later. Only in my dreams would I ever get compensated for any of what i'm doing. I have been doing this to give others ideas and for the enjoyment of the ones who can't get out to see these things for one reason or another.

Yeah, better to be able to point out the good AND the bad, rather than worrying about pleasing some entity that might be compensating you. You're doing a great job. Thanks.

I'm sure lots of people are reading your reports but not commenting.

All I do is sit here, read through and look at all the great pictures, thinking, "One of these days...."
Keep up the GREAT "work". Even though the weather has been fairly decent here back home, I still find myself wanting to get the Sunseeker out of storage in anticipation for the coming season. We're planning on some new places this year, maybe even that trip to Niagra Falls DW wants to take.
Stay safe and keep the sites and pictures coming.

DaGrinch, should you decide to journey to Niagara Falls, give me a shout, maybe I could point out some places in WNY state.
