4277# TT vs. 7513# 5th Wheel

May be time to upgrade my TT. Any opinions on whether a 7513# 5th wheel would be as easy, easier or more difficult to tow than my 4277# TT. My truck is a 2014 F150 Ecoboost.

If your eco has the payload capacity to handle the pin weight, everyone i know who have a 5th wheel tell me it's easier to tow a 5th wheel than a bumper pull tt due to the pivot point of turning.

The F150 is available in many varieties/capabilities. Does yours have the max tow or payload option?

The limiting factor will most likely be the available payload to handle the loaded pin weight not the total weight of the camper.

All of the is your truck up to the task concerns aside, I went up 5,000 pounds from my TT to the 5er, it's been an excellent upgrade in all respects. Tows better, easier to hook up, much more responsive turning and backing. I can tell there's more there when taking off and I had to spend a bit more time making sure my brake controller was setup right buts that's the only time I know it.

I have had 2 tt's and am on my 2nd 5er and I would never have another tt. The 5er handles so much more stable when towing and you almost can't feel the trucks passing like with the tt. It took me a while to get the knack of backing with the 5er. Normally you have a lot more storage areas with the 5er. My Crusader is 8900 empty and I pull with a 2500 Ram with the 6.4 Hemi and it pulls and handles great. Good luck and great camping!
