7 month back order

Hello
Does anyone have any real information on Forest River trailer back order time. I have a Geo Pro 19FSB on order.
I now have been told that it would be another 6 months before my trailer will arrive.
Thanks in advance

Have you contacted Rockwood, since I assume the dealer told you this?

I was told by Lazy Days when I purchased (December)on line that it was on order and was “in coming” I was told it would be in by end of January.
I followed up last week and was told they would call Mike the forest river rep. and get a delivery date.
They e mailed me to day telling me the rep. Said May delivery. My understanding at the time of sale that this unit had been on order for some time.

I would contact Mike and find out when Lazydays placed the order and verify the rest.

No, this is more COVID madness, overwhelming demand, or dealer failure. I ordered mine first week of Sept, and had it on 11/12/2018, just over two months from order to pickup.

We waited 3 1/2 months on our Rockwood 5th wheel Signature. 6 months is a long time and sounds kind of strange. We were told maybe 12 weeks and it ran a tad over. I'd want proof of when the order was placed from Rockwood not the dealer.
If you can get that information at all.

Seems like a long time. You should check with other dealers.

Delivery

I was on a dealers lot Saturday and the lot was pretty loaded with Forest River Travel Trailers and Fifth Wheels. I looked at several rigs that were manufactured in November and December 2020 and they are sitting ready for someone to purchase. I would search the web for the model you are interested in and go elsewhere.

It's many things....all Covid related. I ordered my Wolf Pup the same week the factories in Indiana opened back up in early May after the Covid shutdown and got my trailer 10 weeks later (Normal 4-6 weeks they tell me was the lead-time before Covid). Since then the orders have stacked up. The reason is that lots of people who normally vacation in hotels or condos, could not take those vacations last year and this year is not looking much better so they are buying RVs. In addition with a RV, you don't have to rely on others to clean your room, cook your food, and be in the elevator with others. These combinations and very likely the lack of an unlimited supply of employees to build them and longer lead times for supplies to build them, you get a 6 month waiting period.

Your bets option is to try to find one close to what you want but you may have to travel and be ready to buy on the spot. When mine was ordered my dealer (A very small dealer) ordered 8 others at the same time....they were all gone in 1 week. Good luck

Purchased our Forester at Lazy Days in Minneapolis. They lie, lie, and lie some more. There is only one person what can out lie them. L D lie when they say work will be done per schedule. Lie when they do a PDI indoors but do it outside in below zero weather; what they will fix, but don't; level system back 3 times but still doesn't work properly; work they will do under warranty, but then call months later saying it isn't under warranty when asked when brought in if it was. Sales person won't respond to communication after sale, but would in minutes before sale. I could go on, but I hear they are not the only sales outfit to say anything to get a sale, then forget you ever existed.

We ordered a 2021 Rockwood Mini Lite 2205S on 14 October 2020. We were recently told it would be started on 2 February 2021 with an availability from the dealer mid to late March.

Any promise date is based on worldwide manufacturing and shipping schedules, and the only thing you can predict about any of them is that at least one thing will get disrupted- and disruptions today push everything in the production list backwards.

Before you call the dealer, ask yourself if you really need to pester people who have as little control over the backlog as you do. If "I still have no new information" is the only thing your dealer has to say, leave it. They'll eventually have information- Wandermore recently got told a date that's a couple weeks from now. Until the date is that close, there are so many units ahead of yours in line and so many things that could go wrong that there's no sense in even pretending there's a date.

Don't base your plans on a rig you don't have, and don't hold your breath for something that doesn't have a believable production date yet. If you want to camp this year, buy something that's on a lot somewhere, something that actually exists- or if the dealer says they have one inbound (if they don't have a VIN and a stock number, don't count on it).

If I'm spending thousands of dollars I wouldn't consider myself a "pest" under any circumstances. If the dealer thinks I am being a pita I can spend my money elsewhere.

It won't be long before the used RV market heats up. These "new" owners are going to find out how hard it is to get reservations at campsites around the country now and how the RV storage places are all booked up. My covered RV storage site has raised their rates twice in the last 6 months simply because they can!!!!!! Supply and demand.
