I'm with the "have to spend a night" in the state for the sticker to count.

This is an RV/Camper forum, not where have you been on vacation site so camping means at least an overnight, wherever, in a state to count.

All that being said, this thread is very timely with us planning our first Florida trip in February. My DW has seen the YouTube RV'er "Traveling Robert" on Amazon and his bragging map and asked me just the other day if we are going to get one now that both of us are retired and hope to have much more time to enjoy our RV, starting with the Florida trip.

Back in my heavy running days and training for marathons, I kept a logbook of my distances and times and used the data as a motivator for me to run farther and faster. I can see the brag map work the same way, empty white-colored states staring at you and whispering "Hey, when are you gonna make it to me".

When do we get to add a state sticker on the map?
I say when we put the slides out and spend more then one night
My wife says we spent the night in a parking lot in Nebraska( on our way to
Colorado) we get to add Nebraska

Your thoughts
If you were in the state you should post that on your map. All you really should have to do is put a foot down on the ground.

If you can see it count it. Don't need to drag the camper over to it. Don't need the camper at all. I'm sure I've been in the airspace of every US state and Canadian province even counting the one with the funny name that ain't good enough to be a Province. I think I'm missing American Samoa...

Yeah we're bored. Not enough questions about towing 35-foot toy haulers with F150s I guess...

My Wife and I had different opinions when we got our Sticker Map. She thought that we should put on a Sticker for Driving though a State. I convinced her that we have to at least stay one night, with Slide Out. She agreeded , so how in the World do we get our Hawaii Sticker???

We put ours on the Front of the Slide Out. Only visible when open, but being a Sticker, it's better protected from Sun.

Hawaii is a special case. If I ever go there, I will rent a camper for 1 night. Close enough for me.

It's a personal choice, but we only place sticker if we have stayed the night.

When we went to Hawaii, we never closed the windows. Now if I had thought to sleep outside one night...

I would call that close enough.

I like your way of doing it and I have seen a few like yours. If I ever get one of them fancy stickers to actually put on our rig, that's they way I'll do it. Thanks for that idea.

To continue the conversation with my DW if we were to get a bragging map, and where would we put it, she replied "I wouldn't want to have it on the RV"! I asked where then should we put one and my answer was in our "adventure room" which is a converted bedroom to a television/sitting room. The only decorations we put in there are things we have gathered on our RV travels. I like to collect posters and such from the towns we travel through that announce an activity like an Octoberfest, Music Festival, or a particular restaurant, saloon, or brewpub has or had something going on. Most are 11x17 and we frame them in the same type of frames and have hung them on the walls.

That is actually a really good idea since you can change trailers and keep the map going instead of starting a new one. I use it as a where have we been as a family poster, so that is actually a better use of it.
