AC heater strips

Has anybody added the electric heater strips to ducted ac and how well does it work? We won’t be using our TT during winter months just fall and spring. TIA

I installed one in our hybridization non ducted A/C and thought it worked well. It won't heat the trailer well enough if it's to cold but on 50 degrees plus mornings it took the chill out of the trailer.

I added one to the AC in my last TT . I would not call it a heat strip but rather a chill chaser strip. I would not do it again as you will get better results for less money using a small ceramic heater with a fan.

Thanks Jim, that’s was I was wondering, if it’s colder I will add a portable heater, but just on chilly mornings I don’t want to step around a heater if I don’t have to. We won’t be using it in really cold weather.

With heat, you really want the source to be close to the floor, since heat rises.

I believe OP said that he will not be using the RV in the winter months. Just wanted it to take the chill off in spring and fall.

heat in rv

we have a 8332bc now that has heat strips and fire place. We did have a competitor TT with just a fire place. We were in the DC/Virginia area when it was in the high 30 to low 40 at night and the fire place kept TT comfortable. Don't know this one will be with heat strips yet.
