Annual Long Island camping kickoff weekend complete

Just got home from an annual camping kickoff that is put on here on Long Island. Over 400 campers converge on a local campground for a long weekend (Thursday thru Sunday) of fun. Arts, crafts, games, food lots of great stuff for the kids. We had a great time again this year. It's dry camping no water, electric or sewer wich does not bother me in the least. What does bother me is once again you have people that simply have zero consideration for their nieghbors and show up with LOUD junk pile Harbor Frieght style generators. The guy who backed up in the spot behind me unhitches pops his slide out pulls his generator around to the non entrance side of his camper in the rear and plugs it in. One look and I knew this was gonna be a dandy now mind you I am am now in direct earshot of this gem. He looks over to me and says "I gotta charge my batteries do you mind if I run this?" My response was "I dont mind at all pull the rest of your cord out and I'll give you a hand wheeling the genset around to your side". He enjoyed his generator all weekend. I mean who shows up for a weekend of camping with dead batteries? I had both of my Hondas with me. Running time over the 4 day weekend was ZERO never even started them my batteries held the entire weekend. Now there were noisy generators here and there around the entire campground. Heres another one I scratched my head until it was bleeding over. The guy 2 spots down has a very new Ford F350 diesel dually full 4 door awesome tow rig. His camper is a beatiful 5th wheel triple axle and LARGE so in short this guy had a nice healthy investment in his camping hobby except when it comes to his generator he buys cheap and loud I dont get it. Well sorry to complain I know some will say stay home if you want quiet etc but the kids had a ton of fun and me and the DW had a great time as we had 2 other couples that came with us with their rigs. Camping season is officially underway!
