Any cruisers out there?

We love to take cruise ship vacations...and have taken several. Today, I just booked another 10 day Caribbean cruise on Princess Cruise lines.

Cruises really de-stress my winter blues...so We like to book them in the winter. (Southerners call us snowbirds) It's a nice break from Februarys -30 temps...even for a short time.

Anyone else take cruises? What's your favorite line? Favorite destination? How many days at sea have you got? ( and I'm not talking about you Navy guys!) :-)

I haven't booked air yet. Sometimes, I switch up cruises when I find a really good deal that I like...and dates change.

Current prices during Feb:
$1150 inside cabin
$1750 balcony cabin
*includes all taxes, fees, fuel surcharges.

I've only been on one cruise and that was on a Royal Caribbean ship. The food and the service was awesome. The entertainment was great, with one exception, one night the Royal Caribbean singers and dancers were the entertainment. I feel asleep during the performance. Great ports of call, and in the Grand Cayman Islands we explored the ocean depths on the submarine Atlantis going down to a depth of 102 feet. Did I mention the food and the service was awesome?

We will be going on another cruise this coming March when we go on a 13 day tour of Egypt. A part of that tour is a seven day cruise on the Nile. I can’t wait to see the Great Pyramids in Giza, the temple of Luxor and Karnak, and so many other ancient antiquities. This has been on my “Bucket List” for a long time. Egypt, the birthplace of civilization. As a matter of fact, this will complete my “Bucket List.” I guess it’s time to start a new one since I still haven’t kicked the bucket yet.

Oakman,

The last thing you want to do is complete your bucket list. That just sounds like asking for trouble...

I think a WORLD CRUISE is on my "Bucket List".
I better list WIN LOTTERY ahead of it....

Oh yea...Royal Caribbean is one of my two favorite cruise lines!

We cruised from Vancouver to Alaska, rented a MH for a week, then cruised another ship back to our MH in Vancouver. Terrific trip in Mid May when prices were lower. May do again if these gas prices stay down for a while. Enjoy your trip!

We just cruised on Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas out of Baltimore on October 16th through the 25th. It was our second cruise with RCCL and it was terrific. The ports of call were San Juan, not too impressive, St. Thomas, very nice, Dominican Republic, pitiful, I'll stay on the ship if we ever end up there again and Labadee, Haiti which is RCCL's resort, fantastic. The food, service and entertainment were excellent.

I haven't cruised from Galveston before. Mostly FL and CA.
Our next booked trip is out of Ft. Lauderdale on a 10 day trip to the Panama Canal in Jan 2011.

We have been on 5 cruises and plan on going to the Bahamas in March next year. We have 2 cruise lines out of Galveston, 4 hours away, and disabled vets park free. The Carnival Conquest normally goes to Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozamel. Once a month it goes to Key West and the Bahamas. We will be in the Bahamas for our 22 wedding anniversary. We love cruises and plan on 2 a year as soon as the wife retires on Jan 8 next year. I couldn’t take it any more; I retired June 30 this year.

I certainly plan to cruise more often when I retire. It would really be nice not to have to fly to the ports as well. It really adds to the cost of the trips...and excludes us from last minute deals.

We love the islands...

I wish I was on a cruise right now!

This should remedy itself very soon.
I've started my own full service Travel Agency over the winter.
I need some sort of retirement gig to keep me busy when I hang up my fire helmet for the last time in a few years.

And who doesn't like travel perks???

We've been on 12 cruises, but none since we got our first camper just over four years ago. We've cruised Alaska, Hawaii, Mexican Riviera, Panama Canal and all over the Caribbean. Now we'd rather spend our time camping, and we do it year-round. Our favorite line is Norwegian because they have "Freestyle" cruising, where you can eat any time you like, with anyone you like, and you never have to wear anything more formal than a golf shirt and slacks to dinner ... unless you want to.

No one has posted here in a while..but I'm new here

We have done one cruise on DCL back in 2/08....Bahamas and Disney's island, Castaway Cay, loved it...but too short...a 3 nighter..what a tease...we combined it with a Disney stay.

However, we leave for Alaska end of May out of Seattle for a week! (NCL Pearl)

As mjones12 stated...NCL has the freestyle....with 3 kids of all ages..we need that!!

Cruising is my other bad habit. On took #20 last October. Seems to like Norwegian Cruise Line because of the Freestyle crusing, no tuxedos and eating where and when you want. Favorite cruise is Alaska - been there 3 times and will probably be the next destination. Price drives the destination for the most part and will go where the deals are!
