Anyone ever have a table that is too small to convert to a bed?

We just purchased a brand new 2016 Vibe 250BHS and everything was great until we tried to convert the dinette table into a bed. The opening between the seats is 27 inches but the table is only 26 inches so it won't work. Contacted the dealer and they are looking into this but just wanted to see if anyone else ever had this issue. This is our first travel so hopefully this is the only setback and not a sign of things to come.

There are supposed to be braces screwed to the front of the seat benches that the table top rests on. Could the factory have forgotten to add the braces? If that is the case its a relatively easy fix.

The braces are there which is the frustrating part. I can always remove them and add bigger ones but hate that the factory screwed up. Waiting to see if the dealer can get me a bigger table.

Likely the dinnette is 1 inch too far apart. The cure will likely be bigger supports, not a bigger table

This post makes sense unless the booth is U-shaped. If not, moving the booths closer together should not be a big deal, simply elongating the bolt holes in the bottom wooden braces should allow one, or both booths to be slid closer together.

B Mac

I picked up a bunch of 1x6 and 1x8 from the scrap pile at Home Depot and cut them to length. I just drop the table to the floor and use the boards.

Mine was too small

I have a 2014 Salem Cruise Lite 261BHXL and that's what I found when I went to convert the table to a bed. I ended up buying an extra table tube, taking it to a friend who is a machinist, and had two small tubes made for it just long enough to bring the table up to the level of the benches. When I make the bed with the table, the small tubes provide better support than the small cleats they put on the sides of the benches. Plus I no longer scrape my shins on the cleats when I slide in to sit at the table.

Mine just barely rested on the rails. I purchased some 1x2 removed the factory rails and attached the 1x2 behind it and reattached the original rails over them. No one notices as the cushions cover the top and the face is covered by the factory rails.

Let your dealer & FR fix the problem !!!
Remember you need the cushions to fit properly !!!
