Are you awake?

We frequently camp with other friends, and in the morning it's hard to tell if our friends are up, awake and ready to start the day. Does anyone have any clever ways to show your camping buddies that you're awake a ready for company?

Most RVs have tinted glass, or there's minimal lights on inside that can't be seen from the outside.

We camp all 4 seasons so we may not be outside cooking or drinking coffee as it's too cold, rainy, dark, etc. Yet we would enjoy company or want to stop by and see if our camping buddies are up & at'em.

We thought of placing something on the picnic table, a small flag on our door handle etc. but can't think of an easy, recognizable signal. Any ideas...?

We dont need anyone to "start camping". Get up and do what you want. There are no rules here. Go to bed when you want and get up when you want. If I am up and enjoying my quite coffee, slowly the rest starts trickling out of their camper and vice versa. If we have a group thing planned for that day, we have a set time were getting up.

I don't have one, but maybe a sign like this:

https://smile.amazon.com/Im-Awake-Sl...27m+awake+sign

You could put it on the outside of the door, maybe on the door window, using something like Art Putty, or any other thing you can think of.

Our group usually sets a breakfast time before retiring for the night. Another thing we do is turn on the "porch" light when we wake up so the others know. But this is usually reserved to only the one RV/campsite we designated the night before (which is volunteer only) as to where we are eating breakfast.

We silence the cell phones when we retire for the evening. Turn up the ringer when we get up and start moving.

We put the blind up over the sofa, open the outside door (we have plexi for a full storm door on the screen door) and we are the breakfast chefs in our circle so we start cooking outside to wake them up

When we're camping with a group we use the Porch light for both night and morning. When we turn it off at night that means we're going to bed, and when we turn it on in the morning it means that we're up and ready.

We encourage the whole group to do the same so that anyone who's up will know who else is up.

If you’re cooking........I’ll be there. The heck with the rest, and what time they decide to get up.

X2. If our kitchen blinds are open, or the door is open, we are up. If anybodies door is closed, we leave them alone. We expect the same. Sometimes we are up early, sometimes not.

We frequently travel with groups. We figure if someone wants to be social, they will be up and out. Nobody enjoys 'that guy' who bangs on your door, especially too early or late.

The first alert is the long term campers starting their trucks and going to work.

Then comes the dog walkers.

Then it's those breaking camp and pulling out.

If it's light out, you might as well get the coffee and bacon going.

My coffee maker is outside in one of the basement doors. If that door is open and the coffee is brewing, we're up.

Same as mentioned- if my front door is open, we welcome guests. If it’s closed, text me first.

Unless the weather is cold and crappy, my door is usually open when I get up and around with just the screen closed. I've lived all my life in a cooler home and like the trailer to be cool as well. Coffee is first priority and it warms me all I need during most of my camping from May to October.

If you see my door open I'd be more than happy to brew you a cup of coffee too.

During colder weather with the door closed you'll probably hear my stereo as I love to listen to music, perhaps a little louder than most but not quite as loud as my kids used to.

Yeah, I'd say just chill and the people will come out when they're ready. Don't be over eager, you'll scare them away. If you have plans at a certain time, that's another story, but make that clear the night before. I know that even if i was with other people i'd probably want a little time to myself instead of jumping right out of bed to see other people.

As soon as it is safe for anyone to be around me, I open the blinds around the dinette. My parents open their door when they are ready for company.

I don’t care what time it is. If you need me or just want to chat, knock on my door — unless you’re drunk.

When we are camping with a group, we usually have a designated spot where we gather, fire pit usually. There are a couple of us that are earlier risers and that's where we gather and wait for everyone to get around. DW is usually the last one out. We're camping and relaxing so we have no expectations of anyone else and we respect each others privacy.
