Are You like Me??? May need a Program.

Seen lots of posts about the sad part of the year when a good majority of US RV’rs pack their home on wheels away for a few months. I fall into that category. We had a good year but it plain old sucks to see that batteries on a charger in my garage. Although I don’t store our RV at my home, it is close enough you could walk to the storage lot. I find myself stopping by there at least 2 times a week to “Check it” for any signs of….well anything. The kids like to play in it too. I think I am need to attend a meeting for camping addition….these withdrawals are killer. Lots planned for next year!

I agree. There should be a winter support group. If not, we should start our own.

I am not convinced that having your trailer in storage is worse than having to see it everyday. Every night when I pull in the driveway after work, I see our camper covered for the winter and it makes me sad.

We live in SC so our winter is pretty short...and we had a great 10 days in Destin, FL in November BUT we're already to hit the road again sometime in January. We will probably head to Charleston for a long weekend to get our "fix". We so love to hit the road together...even our border collie stands by the RV door, ready to head out.

At least you guys can see yours..... mine is at the factory getting repairs done. I have had to end my season early and bypass some decent camping weather to get it fixed. I'm usually only a couple weeks into my seasonal affect disorder at this point, I'm 2 months into winterized mode and have no spring dates set due to waiting for my sabre to return home. Knowing when my next trip was helped me get through. In a moment of weakness, dh has me planning a non-camping ttip. I feel like I'm cheating on my Dreamer.... yes we named our Sabre Dreamer.

We are suppose to have a storm Christmas Day but they are calling for 40 degrees between after Christmas to New Years so we might go camping for a few days if it is warmer. I do agree the need to get out!

My camper is covered ...its been covered...seems like forever... 4 plus months to go..1/4 of a year...maybe longer....
The only thing good about the off season for camping is its hockey season.
Good to see the Blackhawks on the top of the power rankings

Was going to Winterize the 5ver this weekend but the weatherman changed our minds. It's going to be in the upper 40's and lower 50's for the next week so we are going to the camping.

Ours is sitting in a corner of the local KOA until we can get a way to back it into the back yard. (very high center-of-street combined with very low curb and then a very-high-yard makes for impossible to get in) and yes, we make excuses to visit every other day.

We got our little Salem Cruiser October 1 and have had it out only 3 times. For central Texas we have had some really strong winds and storms that we weren't comfortable going out in.

Our first trip straight from the dealer was to Lake Whitney where we scored the prime spot, high on a bluff over the lake. About 6 hours there we had a freak 60 mph straight line storm blow through and we bailed and ran for the concrete restrooms while it passed. The wind was so strong it took both of us to open the doors.

We just knew our new baby was in the lake or at least blown over but there she was without a scratch! Nothing was moved or disturbed inside so we probably would have been ok. I have to say I'm pretty impressed with it, being a cheaper entry level trailer and all.

They're forecasting 70 Monday so we may just have to go hook up for a couple of days ;-)

We retired and thought we would mostly travel year around. But, we developed medical problems and that idea when way south. We try to travel as much as we are able. So enjoy your good health and see a lot of sites.
