Awning Center Support

I have a Cherokee 39BS with a 21' awning. It did not come with the awning center support so I had to buy one. Was I supposed to get one with the trailer? Did anyone else have this problem? Thanks in advance!

We had to pay, I think its the norm! $100 installed believe.
We even ordered the "add a room", but haven't found the COURAGE to put it up. Maybe I'll get some 3 ft ground anchors and put it up for an hour?

From what I under standed, It is recommended that if an awning is 20' long or more it should have a center support and it seems to me that if it is recommended it should already be installed. I would question it. Mine is 19' long and the first year I camped at Frontier Town in Ocean City MD, I lost my awning due to a storm the very first night. So, at $1300 later for a new awning, I had a center support installed for about $100.00 extra.

I bought a center support already, I just wanted to make sure that one wasn't supposed to come with my trailer. Thanks for the insight everyone!

How do you actually release it to put it out. I finally cut the zip ties this weekend and pulled a small lever at the top that said down. But I wasn't sure how to release the arms. They seemed to be locked into place and I didn't want to force anything.

I don't know how many style there are, but mine is an A&W, In order to release it from a secured position ( awning is rolled up ) I unscrew the black knob, then it drops down then I remove the hair bin at the bottom and lift the arm out of it's holder located at the bottom " at this point the awning is already open but in the down position " I take the arm and place it in the roller of the awning where there is a hole for the center support to set in, this part is where the hair pin was in the beginning, then the handle is used to put tension on the awning roller. Once that is done then you set your awning up in position. I hope this clear!

hmm, thanks. I will be there this weekend and check it out. I don't know the model and I don't remember the black knob. I will check it out.

I don't know what I was thinking, my center support is not an A&W as in rootbeer it is an A&E.

The first pic is where the center support rest on the awning at the top, the second and third pic shows the black knob on one side and the tension handle on the other, both also show the small pin at the bottom. The small pin go's into the hole that is in the awning roller when it is open..... The beer with out the root! A&E system
