Bad microwave

Brand new 2021 Surveyor Legend and on our first shakedown trip we could not get the microwave to work. We have the micro/oven combo unit. The heating element worked but no nukes were detected. We were hooked up to shore power 30amp and verified we had enough power when we ran our AC earlier in the day. I have a simple microwave tester because I happen to be a home inspector, I put the tester inside and ran the mic but no nukes.
Currently going through the dealer but I anticipate a long drawn out process to get this replaced. Anyone else go through this?

If it was older I'd suggest opening the case and looking to see if a fuse was blown or a wire was loose, but since it's so new I'd let the warranty handle it. I'd also contact the mfg. of the oven in short order to see if they can speed up the process. A lot of times they're more responsive than an RV dealer.

If your dealer wanted to be really helpful he would swap it with one from another rig and not make you wait too long.
Good luck! Can't hurt to ask!

I had a defective Furrion microwave...the keypad didn’t function. I contacted Furrion instead of the dealer and they shipped me a new one right away. I took out the old and installed the new one myself. I still have the defective one because I’ve been too cheap to pay the $20 our area charges to dispose of it [emoji38]

This is way I'd go. I've found it easier to deal with the individual mfr of a given component than go through dealer. Microwave R&R is pretty straight forward.

UPDATE

I should have updated the post earlier. The dealer ordered me a new one. I drove the busted one to the dealer and exchanged it for a working one. Simple to install. Works great!
