Ball mount loose on FR sunseeker door /

Ball mount that attaches to the door stop is loose .
Loose enough that I need to hold the door open to lower the awning.
Found out the hard way when the awning arm bent ( ouch )
RV repair shop advised door needs to be removed because the nut is loose and underneath the kick plate
Has anyone had this issue and do we have any alternative short of removing the door
Thanks

One possibly. If you can get the ball mount completely free of the nut under the kick plate, drill out the hole for the appropriate size riv-nut to thread the ball mount into.

Thanks but I am afraid that the hole would be too large and the clearness to the door is close
Was hoping I could use a filler of some type that would not let the ball mobe

A riv-nut would only require a very slight enlargement of the existing hole. The additional height of the riv-nut is about 1/16".
I have the same setup (and most likely door Dexter) on my coach and there would be sufficient clearance for this solution.

Due to the force on the strut I don't believe any other fix is possible other than a secure mechanical connection.
