Bathroom sink faucet holes too far back ?

Our 4" bathroom sink faucet spout does not extend out far enough toward the drain of the sink. We get a lot of water pooling just below the faucet on the counter. Looking to find a compatible faucet which is maybe an inch or so longer. The length of the faucet from the very back of the base to the faucet tip is 5.5 inches now.

Also, wondering if the "normal" faucets one can buy at a big box store are always compatible "hook-up wise" with the RV tubing lines?

I have replaced many faucets in RVs for myself and friends. Always have bought replacement faucets from HD/Lowe's. Most go right in and hook up with no modifications necessary. There was a couple where the water lines were not the correct length to hook up easily. Easy job to cut them off, use Sharkbite fittings and flexible hoses to complete the project.

We’ve changed both faucets in our camper and found “shark bite “ push in fittings that push onto the pedal tubing in the camper, have a shut off valve and the proper thread for the hoses that braided hoses that come on the new faucet. One of the faucets was from Amazon the other one from IKEA and they both worked out great. If you are trying to save water, like when not on a city water connection, I find it a lot more efficient to have a single lever faucet than a two knob faucet like our trailer came with. You can set your temp and then just turn it off and on as needed.

bought a very nice Delta goose neck from Menards shortly after buying our new MH. Switch over was easy. Threaded fittings are exactly the same only the Delta is not cheap plastic. If you cannot buy a good faucet right away you can loosen the existing one under the counter top and probably pull it forward a bit as the dia. of the holes are a lot bigger than the dia. of the threaded connectors. Seems like the assembly people must think its funny to put them together set as far back as possible.

That is very interesting! Good info, and I will see if the fixture can slide forward a bit !

Good news and bad news: It is really EASY to connect or disconnect the bathroom faucet - by Hand and only takes a minute or two!

Bad news is that the holes on my unit for the faucet were extremely small and had no room to move the faucet forward.

I have looked at some of the goose neck faucets, but it is extremely difficult to know exactly just how far they extend out! Looking at the specs for the various faucets, it is not at all clear to understand the true dimensions!
