Battery Charging

My 5th wheel is a 30 RLT Sabre. My question is when hooked to shore power does the inverter need to be on to charge the batteries? Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you mean CONverter, not INverter. A converter converts 120v AC power to 12v DC power.
An inverter does the opposite.
All RVs come with a factory CONverter. Few come with a factory INverter.

Unless you turned off the breaker for the converter, it is always On.
