Be Ready!

After the storms that recently produced several fatal tornandos, I remembered a thread started by fellow FRF member, radio. It contains info we all need to know;

Happy camping and stay safe!

Yeah, we did okay. The storms split us to the north and south. Close enough to see the lightening and hear the thunder. Only enough sprinkles to wet the driveway though.

Tushka's pretty well wiped out. I believe they called it an EF-3 tornado. Wind 135 mph plus. Half mile wide path for 9 miles.

I think I'd rather take a risk of an earthquake every 20 years or so than have to hunker down several times a yaer to avoid twisters and hurricanes. In the 40+ years we've lived in western Washington, we've seen two tornadoes and the were both small ones. We've had one earthquake that did damage in that same time frame.

Believe it or not, living all my life here in tornado alley and I have only seen 3 or 4 small tornados and only one of them was within a mile of my house.
I do see several wall clouds with rotation each year, but most never produce a funnel that I can see.
