Anyone ever stay at the RV sites at Campfire Lodgings in Asheville, NC?

No but I would like to. Need to check it out first. Some of the reviews mention that it's a tricky entrance road. Keep me posted. Deb

We made reservations in Feb. to go in Oct. a couple of years ago - we got in on a cancellation. There are seating areas overlooking the river and sites overlooking the river. We liked any site between the office and the bath house. Sites beyond the bath house were on a hill (look at their map). It is a secluded, quiet CG. We were in a 34' 5er and would not have wanted to have met anybody going up or down. You could call office to verify you would not meet anybody. The last turn is sharp but easily manageable. Hope this helps a little.

Yes, as another poster mentioned, the inbound road can be a challenge. Also, bears frequent this campground, which is not that unusual in the NC mountains, but just be especially careful with food and garbage management.

If this campground doesn't work out for you, consider Mama Gertie's Hideaway in Swannanoa. Cleanest campground we've ever been to and conveniently located between Asheville and Black Mountain.
