Black streaks

What's the best way to get the black streaks off the RV? Tried washing her yesterday with normal car wash soap but black streaks are still there. I dont want to go with too harsh a chemical like bleach

Since 2008....I've used Dawn dish detergent. Out performed all the "Black Streak Removers" my neighbor let me borrow.

Dish soap would take the wax off. But so would Simple Green

X2 on Simple Green. Use a soft bristle brush and the black streaks come right off.

I use this with great results. Not too harsh, either.[ATTACH]205077

For years, we have used Reliable Products Super Spray Cleaner and a soft brush or sponge to remove black streaks. Spray it on directly (we don't dilute it, but you could do so if preferred), let it sit a moment, then use the damp sponge or brush to remove the black streak. Works great, and it doesn't seem to damage the finish. Then we wash the vehicle with Gel-Gloss Heavy Duty Wash and Wax (fortified with carnauba), which also does a great job. Have used this combination on our TT plus all of our vehicles.

I've tried the Camco Black Streak remover and it left white splotches on my camper. Very visible white splotches. Tried white lighting (was out of Totally Awesome), but it did the same thing. I have the aluminum sided camper and it goes from light tan to dark tan. The only way I've been able to remove those splotches is with my DA polisher and a compound.

I'm definitely going to try Dawn on the one streak I have left today. I'll do a before and after when I get home.

Black streak remove by Camco does not remore black streak on Fiberglass. They seem to go but the day after they are still there. Haven't found anything yet to really remove the black streaks...

This is great stuff, but follow the instructions. Keep it away from decals & printed labeling.

2nd for Awsome

I also use Awesome and then wash and re-wax with 303. I don't have to use a brush. It's usually just a matter of spraying Awesome and wiping off with a rag. If the streaks aren't real bad I can often just wet the rag and wipe them off.

Third for Totally Awesome. Cheap and very effective!! The only thing I would add is that you should have plenty of rags or paper towels on hand when you do it. Also, I've found that you'll need to re-apply any wax that was on the surface prior to using Totally Awesome.

I use RV wax. I have used most of the chemicals mentioned above and found them to harsh IMHO. If you try it I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the results and the ease the black streaks come off. Good Luck!

Try Dow Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner. It's pretty much all I use now...does great job of softening bug gutts so they can be easily brushed off.
While using it, found it does a great job of removing black streaks.

Diamond Shield which makes the clear shield over the paint on my Berk recommends only one product: Maguiars. It works great and thoroughly removes black streaks. Thankfully, it's available at WalMart.
