Black Tank Cleaning On 8314ss
I have an 8314ss 2006 model and always made sure I had clean clear water coming out of the tank before I felt that the tank was clean and that I was confident that the job was done completely, but my gage on the black water tank always read full.
Well this weekend after camping I dump the black tank as usual and the way I do this is that I open the flush valve to the toilet to help push anything down to the discharge pipe and then back wash with a full pressure water line. The strange thing is that the water that was coming out was somewhat clear but not a lot of water, so I look down into the toilet with a flash light and WOW what a surprise, I am not going to say what I saw but you can imagine. As the water was going down the toilet It was not pushing the paper down to the discharge pipe, so at this point I had to come up with a solution to get this resolved, on the water supply from the campground I use a "Y" connection, on one side of the "Y" I have my water regulator then the hose that supplies my camper with the water to the city connection on the other side of the "Y" I have a second hose with no regulator so I have full pressure from the water supply in case of an emergency I used this hose and took it into the bathroom window and stuck it down into the toilet and open the hose nozzle full force with the discharge valve open on the black tank, I could not believe how much stuff that was still in the tank that was caught up. After all of this the gage to the black tank is now reading empty.
I don't know if the plumbing work has changed in the new models for 8314ss or the 8314bss but beware, this is a procedure you may what to consider every now and then to ensure a complete clean out.
