We have the Prodigy RF wireless controller and couldn't be happier. No hard wiring to worry about at all. Just plug it into your lighter plug, calibrate it once and poof, Bob's your uncle. It can be removed from the lighter plug when not towing, no more drilling holes in the dash or bumping your knee on it.

n.b. One thing with this controller though, never use your hazards when connected. The controller reads the blinking brake lights as the brakes being applied on and off and continuously cycles the brakes on and off. Learned this the hard way but that's a horror story for another time.
