Can someone tell me what the approx 1 1/2” wide x 3/4 “ high flat bracket with a round hole that is on the end wall of the lower bunk is for. 2018 Microliter. See picClick image for larger version

Do you have a swing-down upper bunk?

My upper bunk will drop down and the pin (located on the bed rail) which looks like a gate latch works to secure it in place.

My swing down upper bunk has that but it's to hold the upper bunk in the stowed, swung up position. When down, the bunk rests on a 1×2 mounted to walls.

Thanks. Discovered it holds the lower bunk up when one needs to access the storage area under the bunk. Never realized it was hinged and you could lift it up.
