I am here and you are not. I'm sitting in the waiting room at the local Ford dealer. Naturally the truck ran perfectly on the way here. They are checking to see if the truck threw any codes but if the truck is running good there isn't much they can do. I hope I don't have any issues when we haul the fifth wheel home Friday.Click image for larger version

Doesn't look like a fun place to camp for very long.

Wondering if you have a loose clamp on an intercooler pipe. Towing, with the boost up it might blow by and make you think a turbo let go (low/no boost) but unloaded, you don't make enough boost to blow by it and it runs ok.

I've seen it, and its a booger-bear to diagnose if you never have.

The pickle jar on the counter looks empty, hoping that is what it is anyway.

Give a shout if need help getting the 5er home. My good buddy is semi-retired and hauls a triple axle 5er with his 2017 1 ton dually. We are here in Fairview Heights and I work from home on Fridays, and he is always around.

He drives a Chevy so you might have to listen to some anti-Ford gruff. LOL...

So the dealer diagnosed the problem as a sticking EGR valve. The dealer didn't have the part in stock and Friday (we had to leave the campground on Friday) was the earliest they could get to the truck. I lost all confidence in this dealership when the service manager/parts manager said, "the cost would be around $300 unless something breaks getting the old one out."

So we setup an appointment for Friday but on the way back to the campground we decided to leave Thursday and head back home. I decided if the problem with no turbo power showed up before we got to Breese, IL I would turn back and keep the appointment with the Ford dealer.

We made it back to the storage lot without any problems and dropped off the trailer. On the 4 mile drive to our house the power problem suddenly showed up and then the service engine light came on. We now have an appointment with the local Ford dealer.

To be honest, with this current truck issue and now with our trailer in its sixth year of service, and having issues of its own, I'm thinking about giving up the RV lifestyle.

My Ford dealer informed me of fuel system issues along with the EGR and the housing along with some other issues. The repair will be a cab off the truck and cost me just under $5000.00. With less than 70,000 on the odometer I'm completely disgusted. I've had all scheduled maintenance done at the dealership. Even though I know it won't do any good, I've already begun a draft of the letter I will be sending to Ford Motor.

Bad news. Will the dealer do you a trade? The repairs costs are way down when they own the truck.

The truck is paid for so I'm biting the bullet and having the repairs made. I'm not ready to get into monthly payments again.

The Ford dealer just called and the repairs on my truck are completed. I need to bring a credit card with me because the bill is just under $5100.00. With less than 70,000 miles on the truck I'm pretty ticked off at Ford. In the future there won't be anymore blue ovals in my driveway.

If I get the time, I'll post a image of the bill later today.

Sorry for your troubles.
I'd like to see what cost so much.
I worked for Ford for 35 years.
