campground info around state college, pa

Was wondering if anyone has camped in the area of state college, pa? My hubbys job is taking him there and we thought that we may like taking the travel trailer up there for the summer. We are currently on a site in eastern ohio and that is the only place that we have camped. If anyone has any experience with any places around that area, would you please be so kind to post your thoughts...thanks

State College is just such a great place. My son played hockey at Penn State and I made the trip to State College every other weekend for four years. There are quite a few campgrounds in the area. Be aware that the trip on 322 can be quite interesting between Phillipsburg and State College unless they've finally fixed that awful road eastbound.

I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself there. A great town with great folks...just don't wear an Ohio State shirt there!

We have stayed at both of these for Penn State Footballs games. We liked them.

firedude01, he will be working just outside of the college itself, so he would like to stay fairly close in that area, our permanent site is in ohio, and that would leave a very short weekend for camp if he has to travel back and forth friday evening after work and then head back on sunday to job site. He figures that he might as well take the travel trailer to the job rather than have to stay in a motel all week, we live almost 4 hrs from state college. hate leaving our permanent site, but gotta go where the job takes him..and after all, its only temporary, we will return to ohio once he is done..
