Campground near Springfield Ill??
Heading to Saint Louis for the Solar Eclipse in August and looking to stay 1 night near Springfield for 1 night on the way. Anyone have any suggestions??

We stayed overnight at Double J Campground in early may.
Pull through site-didn't even have to unhook.
Easy off and easy on highway.

Double J is right of I55 for easy access and has a pool. Sangchris Lake State park is one of my favorites. There are two campgrounds at Sangchris and I prefer the one on the lake.

We stay at the Double J Campground in Springfield, IL when we return from Goshen. It's a good choice.

Camping Springfield IL Area
Sangchris State Park . Hickory Point Campground
No full hookup, but very clean beautiful campground and fairly level

We stayed there last year. Very nice and clean. Owners are sticklers for the rules which is good if you don't like yapping dogs and children running around.

We just stayed there. Very clean and lots of space between campsites. No pool.

We just stayed 5 nights during 4th of July weekend at Double J. Nice clean place. Owners are so wonderful. Offer good sam Discount too
