Camping addiction

It's only been two weeks since I winterized my camper. Already I'm at a loss. Going through camping withdrawals. Will be a long 8 weeks till first trip in 2016. I do not know how i will manage.

Planning trips for 2016 will help but it just does not replace the thrill of packing up the rig and going and enjoying the outdoors.

I'm still to young to retire so I will have to plow through. It's only eight weeks,I can make it.

Hello my name is Ron and I'm a campaholic!

PS. This is a funny and satirical comment and is not meant to diminish or offend anyone that has a problem with addictions.

I feel your pain!

We just took delivery of our new 5th wheel in October and only got to use it three short trips before having to put it to bed for winter.

At least you get to go in 8 weeks. We won't even be able to think about going anywhere until at least mid/end of April with the weather we get here, high atop the Allegheny Mountains.

That's why I'm taking it to Florida in January for a week

Same here. In 8 weeks around here the ground will still be covered in s***. Feel free to fill in the other three letters however you wish.

Wow. I really see your pain. The older I get the less I want to see the white stuff. Spent my first 30 years in central Maine. Moved to Maryland then just across the border into PA. I am hoping in 14 more years to be able to escape seeing any white stuff. Or any that sticks around. They say Belize has nice weather, but I can,t drive my Grey Wolf there. 😏. Stay warm my friend. Summer will be here soon.

Camping addiction

After more than 40 years of dealing with the 'White stuff', freezing my A## off, I sold the Stick and bricks in Wisconsin and moved to my 'New to me' stick and brick in Beautiful South Georgia.
Now I can be one of those 'annoying people' who talk about going camping all year long.

Idaho, Wyoming and South Dakota! Now I'm one of the annoying people. Camping season is about to start.

I feel ya. We took delivery on our fiver in October and got to use it once for a shake down trip and then winterized it. Luckily we're breaking it out next week for Thanksgiving and again for Christmas since that is an easier solution for where to stay while visiting the wife's parents.

We need to start working up plans for some trips for additional shakedowns in March. Mid April we're going to be boondocking for a week and having a serious issue then will be less than desirable.

Our fiver has been on the shop for two months, getting her back tomorrow. First trip won't be until January 21 due to working retail. Love living in the south and camping year round.

We just took a trip to GA over thanksgiving, and we're already getting impatient for our trip to FL panhandle between xmas and new years. So much so that we just booked a short trip to Ft Myers for the MLK day weekend.
Unfortunately I think it's going to be a long stretch from then 'til our next trip, since I'm saving up PTO (and my sabbatical) for a long roadtrip in the summer (which we're still planning)

I bet it's nice to be in FL to camp year round, I guess if you can find a place with all the snow birds down there.

Yeah, finding a site is definitely tricky. Most of the RV-friendly sites at the state parks are pretty booked up (because they're cheap), and even most of the more expensive RV parks, especially down south or by the coast, are booked too.

'tis nice to be able to get away year round tho'.

Booked into Milton KOA (near Pensacola) for xmas/new-year break, and to Woodsmoke Camping Resort (near Ft Myers) for MLK day weekend. Really impatient for both trips

Hoping it won't be too cold in the FL panhandle. Avg low for that time of year is 41F, but has been known to go as low as 14F overnight.
We'll keep an eye on the weather forecast to decide how much we need to improve the pipe/duct insulation etc.

I was stationed at Eglin AFB in the early 80's I remember one Christmas being at beach because weather was so nice.
