We've been there four times already this year and have another trip planned in September.
I am doing the same thing this month. I rented a spot on the Portage Lakes in Northeast Ohio about 10 miles further from work than my house is. I just go to work from there. It is nice to be able to camp and still get to work in decent time. Even better is going jet skiing every night after work!!

That looks great to me - to bad I'm on the other side of the state. Lot's of options here too though.
We'll be back in Pentwater in late September and Ludington the first weekend in October. Never camped that late in the season . We love that time of year.

I like fall camping. We are so blessed to have all the options available here in Michigan, both sides. I think a trip to Poncho's Pond is in order in a few weeks.

Great spot! Being just a lil bit north of Denver we have a few spots like this, close and easy. On the water, well that's a different story.

Excellent looking place! Can picture a cold beer in hand watching the freighters go by and a campfire at night.

Twice a season DW and I like to go to a state park on Lake Erie about 32 miles from home. We'll stay 7 to 10 days and commute to work. Though the morning ride is a little longer, waking up and prepping for the work day in the RV makes it so much fun. Bonus is the ride home knowing we are heading back to "camp" for the evening. Helps bridge the hump and want of going on longer destination trips that darn old work somehow gets in the way of.

We got our trailer in May. We are still exploring all the campgrounds close to us.
We are in Mid MO and there are probably 50 within 150 miles of us.
We are trying to go to a different one each weekend till we find THE one to go to.
Luckily "winter" doesn't hit here till December so we still have time to try and get them all.

dretired THAT LOOKS AWSUM!!!
Nice spot , X2 on a cold beer in hand watching the freighters go by and a campfire at night.

We have a nice county park 8 miles from the house and camp with some of our friends there.
Cant wait for a road trip to really get away!

Is there access to a long bike trail at Algonac State Park? Thinking of heading there and want to know if it is worth brining all the bikes? And do freighters go by all the time?

Thanks for any info!

Is that the St. Clair River? Nice! We've been looking for a place to camp in that area. We have grandkids in Grosse Pointe, so it would work out well to drive down there from our mid-Michigan home, get set up and then pick up the kids. Do they have activities that elementary school age kids would enjoy?
