Camping in the rain?
So, we have a trip planned over this weekend to Evergreen RV Park in Dundee, OH. We love it there. The weather is not going to be nice, 40's and rain sat. I was wondering what you all did when the wheather didnt cooprerate? I know they have an indoor pool and hot tub, but any other ideas?

We usually play some kind of card game. Rummy is our favorite. Euchre is fun, but you need 4 people. Being from Ohio myself, not many people in the south know the game of Euchre.

If it isn't raining too hard we will go for a hike where there is tree coverage. When we get back we have a nice big bowl of soup & grilled cheese sandwich. Then we sit back, grab a good book and listen to the sound of the rain on the camper.
If we are staying at a campground for a longer trip, we tend to go into town and do the 'tourist' thing during bad weather.
No one really likes to cook outside in inclement weather so we have a small crockpot
we set up in the morning for the chili/soup/stew that we will have for dinner.

Lots of games here, too. And since we don't have a TV, lots of coloring books and chapter books (our kids are still under 10). That's for one rainy day. Different story if it was raining and 40 degrees for the whole weekend we camped.
I'd be OK with hot tubbing it if that's what was available. Nice!

We play lots of games and we have satelite tv as well. I'd cook something warm in the crockpot and have a few cocktails. Hey, it's always better than working!

We have a load of board games in the camper.
You are a week early for Evergreen , we are going the next week for the
Cinco De Mayo and KY Derby parties. The pool sure makes Evergreen a safe bet for early season Ohio camping at least the kids get out of the camper for a few hours.

One of the great things about having a TT, provides a place for activities when the weather doesn't cooperate. We do cards, games like Yatzee and Boggle and couple weeks ago when it snowed on us we watched DVD's and ate popcorn!
Sure is better than the tent days of sitting under the makeshift plastic cover over the picnic table wishing the rain would stop.

We have board games and satellite tv as well, but as long as it's not windy, DW and I love to sit outside under the awning and just enjoy the atmosphere. May turn on the radio softly, and read outside under the awning. Of course, if it's too windy for the awning to be out, then we will move inside for games, dvd's, or whatever. Even if it's raining, we can still cook in dutch ovens under the awning.
