Almost nothing is better after it is bought out by a large corporate outfit. I really hope they don't buy out my dealer. This can be stopped if enough customers stop buying from them. Stop the cash flow and they can't buy everyone out.

Can the same be said of Forest River who was bought by Warren Buffett back in the mid 2000's? Probably.

Not sure if even Marcus can come up with that much money, since Thor Industries is the biggest RV corporation in the world.
Even FR Inc is a distant second.

Now that CW has purchased our dealer in Manassas Va, we are caught. We had an appt, had sent all warranty repair work, with photos to the original dealer. They said "got the list, we are ordering the parts". But now with CW there, they say they have no parts for us, have remeasured and are having trouble getting FR to commit to the warranty work. Help! Is there a way to call FR and shake the trees?

I had issues at camping world and will be sending a few letters out. GIt is going to FR for the repairs. Call FR rep to check, CW told me something different than FR. CW wanted to fix different than i wanted it done, and said FR said it had to be fixed the way they wanted too, but CW never asked, so now it goes back. FR has been great so far.

We have a warranty appt for work on a new RV. We owned it 4 days and the slide broke, would not retract. Called what is how Camping World in Manassas, and they could not make an appt until the 18th of July. (the failure occurred first week of June) Husband spoke to them yesterday and they said they would "try to have fixed" in a week, otherwise we could come get it and go to our event and then bring back. What kind of service is this? (he can manually walk it in and out but the auto button for IN and OUT failed)

Who or what number did you call at FR?

You need to call the person that does your line of campers.

It took some phone calls and emails, but it help me solve key problem.

CW bought out Nelson's RV's in Boise idaho this past March.
Service went down hill immediately. Had our TT scheduled for service work, the service was approved, parts were shipped to Nelson's (Had been delivered to them) and it took them 6 weeks for the repairs. Part of their excuse was that they lost 4 technicians, Oh they also lost the repair order. We also had them add a solar panel at the same time, of course the original quote was also lost convenient.
Another good dealer bites the dust.!

Per a friend of ours who bought a TT from CW and had problem with the purchase complained to FR, were told that CW was a majority owner of CW. Because of that there is not much they can about complaints.

Not only buying up, but expanding. Heard from a friend today that the Camping World down from Ocean Lakes in Surfside, SC bought the Sonic, tore down the Sonic and expanded the CW lot.

CW will continue what it is doing as long as people spend their money with them. I just don't understand why people buy campers from them. Their prices are awful and their service either paid or warranty is equally bad.

I personally won't even buy toilet paper from CW.

Friends don't let friends buy from CW.

I'm not sure what you are saying here, "CW was a majority owner of CW."

I thought that’s what you meant but I wanted to be sure before I responded. Forest River Inc. and its subsidiaries are wholly owned by Berkshire Hathaway. Camping World doesn’t own even a small part of Forest River and never did.

Your friend was fed a line of BS, which isn’t surprising at all.

that is odd, it was a service rep from Forest River that gave him that information. Mike purchased a camper from CW. When they received the unit after the walk through along with a few minor fixes they found that there were missing. After approaching CW about the items CW said they were there just for show. After his complaint were ignored by CW he approached Forest River who supplied the items. It was at that time FR gave him that information.

Thanks for the correction i did not intend to spread incorrect info.
