Can I leave my fifth wheel attached to TV

Can I leave my fifth wheel attached to TV overnight? Should I still try to level and should I put down stabilizer jack and front leveling jacks? Also if not hooked up to electric will battery of RV drain my TV battery. Thanks. Asking for when we are on the road and only making quick overnight stops.

You should not be that far off level if your hitch is set up right. You can not run adsorption fridge if you are not fairly close to level. Depending on what is running in the 5er and what TV you have, you can kill the TV battery as well if you do not unhook the Bargman. Some TV include a relay that only activates the 12V aux line ( pin ) when the ignition is on. In others, it is a direct connection to the Battery through a fuse and can drain the battery.

Same here but will put the front legs down to help steady the camper.

Hmmm...Under his profile he shows a 2440WS fifth wheel....
Maybe he replaced the TT? Typo in the signature? Or heck maybe he owns two!

I have a TT, but it applies the same. I leave it hooked when just overnighting at Walmart. I park nose down and use the jack to level. Within reason, of course. I put down stabilizers, too. I also have a charge controller I mounted in the truck, so I can leave it connected without issue.

Heck ya

I know people the disconnect religiously. Just want to practice I guess.
If you don't need your tow vehicle to go somewhere I see no reason to disconnect.
As far as leveling, you can use blocks under tires or your front jacks, or both.
It's not a bad idea to unplug your electrical to your tow vehicle whether you are connected to shore power or not.

When we spend a quick night on the road I leave it hitched if there's room in the campsite. I'll level it as best I can with the front jacks to keep the fridge going and to stabilize it. Never had a problem with the TV battery which I keep connected.

I will be stopping in Petrolia Ontario tomorrow night and will stay hitched up! Have done it in the past! Might see a Frog or two there as well!

On my fifth wheel I put the front jacks down to take the weight off the truck. I have a residential refrigerator so camper doesn't have to be level. I don't unplug the fifth wheel from truck as my Silverado has two batteries and the truck has battery has run down protective.

I also just unplug from the truck. If I want more stability I only drop front landing gear.

when we towed our windjammer across country, we used koa campgrounds which were close to I40, always used pull through sites. I stayed hooked up, put slides out, used stabilizers to steady the trailer. I stayed hook up to the truck via the power cord, however I always hooked up the shore power. I guess the TT likes 110volt more than 12volt. Did I hurt anything ??? I thought the 110 power on would not harm the 12 volt system. No issues with the dual battery system on my diesel. We left the campground first lite the next day. I saw other campers doing the same as they were travelling also.

You can stay hooked, i do it often when traveling. I put my stabilizers down to stop the rocking. [ don't for to raise them before leaving. ] Try to stay as level as possible to protect the refrigerator.

I installed a battery disconnect switch on my TT, can I assume I can just shut off the battery, or will it still drain the tv?

We are planning a long trip in August

Just to be sure just unplug tv power cord and use your trailer battery. You don't want to disconnect your camper battery, you need power for lights, water etc.
