Can purchaser request television replacement?

My wife and I are looking to upgrade our TT to a 5th wheel, either used or reasonably priced new. We've looked at a number of them and most used (and a few new) units do not have a television even though the wires and brackets are there. Dealers will often state the previous owner decided to keep the unit and removed it before trading it in, so they won't replace it. If we decide to purchase the trailer, can we demand the dealership to replace these at their cost?

You can demand anything you want but it's up to the dealer as to how bad they want to make the sale. They have no legal requirement to replace anything. It's all about the negotiations.

You can demand whatever you want. Whether they will do it is another question. I suggest negotiating politely instead of demanding.

I don't understand the problem, just buy the tv you like and install it. I wish my camper had not come with a tv. I have a Jensen tv and I wish it was a Sony or LG

This is what I would do. You can find a better quality TV for the same price or less (Probably less) than what a dealer would sell you. Good Luck in whatever you decide!

Just buy your own.
You will have what you want and it won't cost you an arm and a leg from the dealer.

The reason many used units don't have TV's is because the owner likely purchased what they wanted and kept it for their next unit.

If you want to negotiate a price for you having to do so with the dealer, then do so politely (not demanding) but don't expect miracles.

Can purchaser demand TV

X 3. I never got a television brand that I ever heard of when it came pre-installed in the trailer.

Sure. You can demand they throw in a TV for you. But one way or another, you are still going to pay for that TV.

yes, however, look at the manufactures web site, most of these 5'ers and TT's today are coming to do the dealers with TV in them and the dealer takes them out and charges an "option" fee for them. We looked at a few fivers over the summer and none on TV's in them, when I mentioned that the manufactures web site stated that the 5'er came with a 55' tv, the salesperson said that they take them out due to thefts and they would put them one once the unit sells

I guess I may be tough, but you wouldn't buy a used car costing $35,000 with the radio missing. I'd be polite, but expecting a replacement if the unit came with it from the factory. I really don't care what the brand is as long as it worked and had a reasonably good picture. Fair?

Black Friday is here.

Buy a better model than it came with. A TV is not the primary reason for RV-ing

With regards to the NEW units that you are considering, simply ask the dealer for a factory brochure for whatever unit(s) you are interested in. The brochure will list all the standard equipment that is included, which may or may not include a factory-installed television.

I agree with the crowd, pick up your own TV and save your negotiations for getting as big of a price reduction as you can.

I will say though that I got lucky. Mine came with a real nice Samsung. It's actually kind of a waste since the cable signal is typically pretty lousy in the campgrounds we frequent. Beautiful when we fire up the Blue Ray though!

I agree totally. That's why we don't like the campers that come with an outside entertainment center, although sometimes I listen to Pink Floyd on our outside speakers. Just can't get too far away from our "hippie" years!

You have to realize that a TV is not always a standard option, they may have had to buy their own in the first place.

Tv throw in

I would negotiate my price and before signing i would say that I also want them to throw in a TV. If they want the sale they will throw in the television. It is all part of the negotiation. Most likely they will throw in the RV to make the sale. Not unlike them trying to sell you all kinds of ad ons after you agree to a price. Go for it and let us know how it goes.

Our Jensen is amazing. Throw a Dish satellite signal at it or an OTA digital signal and it matches the quality of my Samsung 4k at home.

I want a Sony or LG, I would sure like to sell my 48in Jensen tv. I want a 3D tv. I guess Jensen is ok but I think it's a cheap tv. About the only place you see them is in a RV

We listen to the Dead and Bluegrass. The only thing we have used the t.v. for mostly is to review the pictures taken on a bigger screen than the laptop.
