Level up system
We’ve been using our Level-Up 6 point system for 5 years now. Never had an error message. As others have said we’ve found that putting some blocks under the jacks reduces the stroke and seems to make it a tad more stable but that’s just personal preference. Ours takes between a minute and fifteen seconds to a minute and a half to complete the leveling cycle. I wouldn’t want to own a rig without it.

Guess it might depend on how much control you want to maintain. I do agree that it is pretty rough on the cycle and generally overextends jacks.

I love mine.
And had a lot of problems at first. Then my sweetie recommended that I read the instructions on the label next to the controls EVERY time both setting up and breaking down.
No problems since!
I just let it do it's thing. On one site, at Bristol Motor Speedway, there was a big slope side to side. One tire came off the ground an inch or so. I didn't worry about it, the unit was level!

To all of you who provided information on the auto leveling, thank you very much! I went ahead today and added it as an option. I hope I have as much success with it as some of you have had.
This is what makes this forum so awesome!
Thanks again!
P.S. I have those yellow square pads for the electric stabilizers. I use about 4 of them stacked under each leg. It's about 4-5 inches tall. Should I use those under the auto leveling legs as well?

I find the camper to have less movement when we block the legs up some.

We've been using our LCI 6 point hydraulic system for years with only one issue with the Alta board and that was replaced free of charge a few years ago. I absolutely would not have another 5th wheel without this system. It barely takes a minute or so to level and as others have mentioned, if you have to change a tire, or repack wheel bearings, you can put it in manual to raise one side off the ground. I just take plenty of 10" x 10" boards for those times a site is very sloped and the jacks would have trouble extending enough...or the ground is very soft.

First time I used auto-level it was rodeo time. The fifth wheel almost flipped over. I have used it since, but prefer manual. The only errors I have are for running out of lift on a cylinder.

When you get the auto leveling does it come with the smart front jack that remembers the height you used to disengage or is that another option?

Thanks so much, we ordered a trailer on Friday but I am sure I can still add it on Monday if I decide to get it.
Thanks for any info you can provide.

We have had auto level on our tongue pull and now on our 40 foot 5th wheel, would never own an RV without it. The only time you may have an issue is with a severe non level parking spot with various pitch and sloping. Witnessing folks struggling with blocks or leveling roll up devices and levels is entertainment. While I push a button and pop open a beer. Then Two minutes later my wife is rolling out the slides. Anyone using AL with tires off the ground better read their owners manual, very good chance of twisting the frame. But our system has protection built in to prevent something wonky happening. We have had to move spots one time in three years because of leveling issues. Good luck

In my opinion, best thing since sliced bread! I have had errors but they are very easy to overcome.

OMG you are going to love the auto leveling! We traded our older 5er with a new one in July that had the LCI 6 point level up system. Once I got the knack of it, setup and re-hooking at the end of the trip is easy breezy.
Getting to the campground, you press a button to lower the front jacks enough that you can pull the truck out. Then you hit the auto level button and it does its thing for a couple minutes. Soon enough, it is done and you can proceed to opening slides, etc. As others say, blocks under the jacks is helpful to keep from over extension plus I feel it even makes the camper feel more solid.
When you are ready to hook back up to leave, press the hitch height button (I think that is what it is) and it will automatically pull up 4 of the jacks and adjust the front 2 to the height when you disconnected the RV.
In manual mode, you can lift a side of the camper up to change tires. SWEET!
Trading in our 10 y/o camper for this 2019 model gave us a lot of new gadgets and stuff but this level up is the bomb for me. So fast/efficient at setting up that I'm drinking a cold beverage in minutes post arrival!

I get the error when the legs extend to far Need blocks
First step trailer up Move truck
Two auto level
Undo
Hitch height. Rears retract
Trailer up if needed
Connect hitch
Trailer down
Four by six blocks work very well
Never trust grass Always use blocks

This brand new video may have some helpful tips. He has a couple other videos on how to use it and correct errors.

I've had three fifth wheels without it and now this one with. I wouldn't purchase another one without it. I've NEVER had an issue with it and it balances better than I could ever do it with putting blocks down, then backing up checking the level, pulling out, adding or subtracting blocks then doing it all over again.

Seeing as you just ordered the trailer.
During your PDi MAKE them level the trailer with you there in person, with luck they already test it and its not a big deal. I forced my dealer and BAM it failed 4 hrs latter it was fixed, I wouldn't sign until it was functional. it was just miss wired nothing epic
I have electric system ...I have these 2 complaints. It has limitations in that it only has so much stroke, and I have to lower the bottom half of the jack.
I have learned the system has a sensor near the rear of the trailer and some manufactures when this is installed is done loose, so it moves around or it is just slapped on with no real re guard to its use and not correctly so people have epic issues.
So things to keep in mind
A handful of boards goes along ways in helping
Paying attention to the initial angles listed in the display and knowing the system limitations in how far it will correct. Usually just means more boards if the site is really off I would need lots of boards and to pre level with the tires.
I do not block the front 5thwheel as I feel the risk of a trailer falling off blocks and landing on the bedside of a pick up isn't worth the risk. Also these jacks have plenty of stroke.
IF and when I buy again... Hydraulic would be considered or at least electric with longer stroke otherwise yes I like the option.

I have the level-up on my Cedar Creek Hathaway. ( 34RL2 ). It has failed about 40% of the time. If I ever buy another trailer, it will NOT have the level-up and it will not be Cedar Creek.

There seems to be difference in reliability between the LCI hydraulic vs. electric auto-level systems.
I've learned that with my electric LCI Ground Control 3.0 auto-level system, I need to get the 5er "reasonably" level with boards (or you can use Andersen levelers) before hitting auto-level because it has lifted the tires on one side off the ground a couple of times in the first year. So its not just park, unhitch and hit a button.
Reducing the extension of the jack legs and using X-Chocks will substantially reduce motion in the trailer when someone is walking around. So I always put wood blocks or Lynx Levelers under the jack feet to reduce how far they extend and prevent the "out of stroke" error.

Can these be added to a travel trailer as an aftermarket option? Leveling is always such a pain ... I'd love to add an auto-leveling feature to our camper. Ballpark cost?

Not to derail the OP Q which I think they have gone ahead and ordered the system.
In any Case those of you who have issues, I feel the collective might be able to help you in getting your system to work, if you would like some help. I dislike seeing people spending money on something to hate it and for me not to at least try and help.
So those of you that HATE it.
Can you describe what the issue is?
how does it not work?
Did it ever work or just sometimes?
do things move?
which system do you have?
does it matter on shore power or battery?
Do you get a error message?
Things I have learned.
Will it level my trailer if the site is really messed up?
No because the jack doesn't have enough stroke in the jack to get the unit level.
BUT I don't recall ever having a site that I couldn't make work.
Also If your tire is up in the air.... OK its up in the air I fail to see the issue. If your trailer frame isn't' strong enough to support the trailer on a jack or it was installed incorrectly you have bigger issues then the leveling system. Theft concerns of tires sure but who wants trailer tires? and what about your spare?
