Been into Canada twice, so I know so little I don't even suspect anything. It took 1:20 and that's no minute and seconds... to get from seeing the check point to the gate. I pulled up, turned off the truck handed him my passport. He asked where I was going, told him Vancouver; asked how long would I be there, I told him just today. He asked why I was going there. I told him to just to ride into Vancouver and back, might go see the Fort (forgot the name). He asked why my tailgate wasn't on the truck, I told him... can't have a tailgate with my kind of truck camper. He asked where was the tailgate I told him in Florida, he said are you sure. I said it was there when I left Florida, so I assume so; with a smile and without attitude. Then he asked if I was carrying a firearm or ammo, I told him neither, he asked "are you sure", I confirmed that I was sure I didn't have either. Didn't ask about veggies or fruit. Coming back in the US agent asked where I was coming from, where I was going, I told him Mount Baker, at campground such and such... he said isn't that a beautiful place and I said, more than beautiful... said have a nice day and enjoy Washington State... nothing about commodities or guns and ammo.

Canadian Customs

i have lived in both Alberta and BC and have found that gas is one of the easiest things to bring across the border. We always travel light going both north and south, and make sure we have dog food receipts and vet certificates, no fruit or veggies, and declare every thing. No one has ever searched our trailer, but they have lectured us if we didn't have a firm itinerary state-side. I have only once been pulled over for inspection, and I believe it was random. The only thing I brought home that trip was the gas in the tank, which I declared and did not have to pay duty on.
