ceiling fan switch

I have a 06 wildcat, i have replaced the ceiling fan switch twice already, and according to forest river there is not a different switch that i can use. Has anyone used a different switch? The original and the 2 i replaced have melted. Fan worked ok on low but on high speed is when it melts. Any ideas would be appreciated

It could be the switch but if you talk about the switch getting hot may be one of two things.
1. swtich is wired wrong. Is it only a 2 speed fan? 1 pull off, 2, pull on low, 3rd pull fast.

2. It may be that the start/run capacitor may be bad, Have you seen the capacitor? May look like the one pictured here.

Iggy, the fan has three speeds forward and 3 backward, I took the switch out and traced the wires behind the concertone untill it disapeared into the wall, the back of the switch has a wireing diagram on it, when i replaced the switch i did so 1 wire at a time so as not to mix them up. On the wildcat forum other F.R. wildcat owners were having the same problem, Called F.R. today , hopefully they call back tomorrow. Found no relay or capisitor of any kind in the wiring
