We visited the Biltmore in October. Wonderful trip. Even if you don't like old houses, the ground and history are interesting. We stayed at bear creek rv park and campground. Good value, very clean, and close to everything near Asheville. get a site on the top ridge fur the best views, the pull through sites are noisy. We want to come back and try the camp ground at Maggie valley.

Wumba, yes...Mama Gerties has full hookups(water, elect, and sewer). We stayed there on the 2nd level. Really nice CG. The top level has a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. Groceries and restaurants are close by. The CG is very quiet and relaxing.

There are 5 or 6 backin sites on lower level at Mama Gerties without sewer due to proximity to a stream.

FYI: They don't open sites at the very top in winter. Still a world-class place for winter camping.
