Champion 3400w vs. 15k BTU A/C - Success

Bought a Champion 3400w inverter generator, model 100233. Broke it in for a few hours today and then took it to the TT in storage for an A/C test. Ambient temp was 86F and inside TT temp was 96F. I started the A/C on fan only and then kicked on the compressor. I could hear the generator slightly load up for a split second. I let the A/C system run for a while and then shut it down. I then started the A/C with fan and compressor at the same time. Generator took it right in stride. It looks promising...

I purchased a Champion 3500W (model 100262) from Camping World and use it on my single 15,000 btu A/C with great results. My A/C will also run with the generator in Eco mode but I only turn that on a few minutes after startup. I am sold on Champion products and so far the generator has been very reliable.

You might consider installing a hard start kit on your AC to make it even easier for your gen the hard start kit is very inexpensive and easy to install

I thought about that. I had one one my last TT. The start capacitor in my A/C unit has a time delay for the compressor. I'll keep an eye (or ear) on it for a while.

I run my 26FBW with a 15k AC on my 3100 Champion and it does fine. I have noticed that the fan comes on and then a delay for the compressor. It doesn't seem to even bother it in econo mode. I have had this a year now and have been very happy with it so far.

we just bought the 3400W inverter (model 100261) and love it, on the Champion website the question is asked what is the difference between the 3400W 100261 and the 3500W 100262, the Champion Techs answer is this "The only difference between these two units is one model has a slightly more conservative, under-rated wattage output displayed on the unit and packaging.",.... so they are the same generator with yours showing the more correct info about it capability,..... fantastic generator and I love the remote start
