Champion 4000 Generator

Bought one today at camping world and when got home followed instructions to the number and cranked on first pull.....they gave
you a free cover with it so made the great price even better....
Did not install spark arrestor as will be breaking in at the shop, will
use when get to tinder area when camping....they can reduce engine
performance when they start to crud up. Is there anything negative
for the engine by not doing this? Thanks for any thoughts......

You..will probably get a lot of negative comments about a Champion generator ..TOO LOUD !!! for a campground...is one for sure...but..dry camping..boon docking...or home emergency... ...

that's why i didn't mention campgrounds.

taking the spark arrestor off and take it to any public lands, would be a violation of the law, as far as i know.
i know off-road motorcyclists have been arrested for starting fires with bikes that the motors had no arrestor on them or they had been removed.
