Class C Test Crash

I love watching test crashes. I thought this one was interesting to say the least. The speed was 30 MPH.

Great details of 30mph to zero and how everything flies out, off and through the RV.

bear in mind that this clip was using a FIAT European class C which might not have been build to US standards.

Of coarse US standards are not that much better considering your towing or driving a small house. With a fiver I am sure your rear living area would end up in your drivers seat. Check out youtube and search on rv crashes, scary. Here is a link to one, sway and wind a bad thing!!!!

Which is actually a bad thing for US models. Note that is built off the Fiat Ducato which is their answer to the MB Sprinter Chassis. The Ducato is actually one of the best selling "full size" van chassis in the world. It will be sold in the US next year under the Ram name.

One has to believe that any MB Sprinter based model would perform exactly the same. Note that the van chassis actually crumples like it should and the drive appears well protected. Except for having a couple thousand pounds of wood and fiberglass beating him in the back.

I would hazard a guess that the European van chassis models have better crumple protection than the Ford van chassis does. And both are going to the house leave the chassis no matter where they come from or what they are made of.
