CO detector

We just bought a 2015 Cherokee 264L. I was checking some systems out and my wife heard detector this morning and smelled propane while walking dog. Yep, I left one of the stove burners on "light". I pushed the test button to silence and the chirping would not come back. Do these reset or do the need to be replaced if they activate

"DUMMY!"

The CO/Propane detector is no different than a smoke detector in your home. It does not need to be replaced. Once reset and the condition that caused the alarm is cleared, it will continue to monitor. They do have a finite life but it is usually about 5yrs and will be printed on a label usually on the back.

Welcome to FRF. You will find and answer to almost any question you have from our over 100,000 members. Check out the library section ( in green top bar) there is a wealth of great info on RV systems and their operation.

Does anyone know if 264L has 2 CO2 detectors?

Yeah, they are "supposed" to have about a 5 year life. However, I had one go out after a bit over 3 years.
If you remove it you will find a manufacturer date on the bavk. This is the actual date it was made. Your rig is a 2015, however possibly made in 2014, and the detector may have been made in 2014, so it is going on 5 years old.
If so, it is possibly in need of replacement.
Best price I have found is on Amazon, but some of the mail order rv parts houses (Tweetys, Dyers) may have it for lower price.

The site team has changed the thread title to CO detector... CO2 is our outgoing breath.
