We've had a very unseasonably warm winter here in NC. Wife loves it but I keep telling her that we need some cold and freezing to kill off some of the bugs else it's going to be a terrible spring and summer with bugs of all sorts.

Oh sure!

It was a bit chilly here though this AM...39º.

It was 60º at home last week when it was 80º here... I didn't get blamed for that!

Odd. 41 is predicted low here, about 50 miles SE of you.

There's freeze warning here, but the hourly forecast shows a low of 35. Historically, 35 is where I disconnect the hose as I've had a frozen water hose at that point in the past.

Counter clockwise circulation off the east coast of FL is pulling that deep arctic surge down over the peninsula. The white line between blue and green colors is the freezing line. Fortunately there will be a fairly quick recovery by Thursday.

Well, since everyone else is showing off their fires....been getting down into low teens in the mornings and not above freezing in afternoon here in NJ. Snow has been scarce, but 2 months of winter to go....

We were desperately wishing for camping season last week, as we had a brutal week of cold in Saskatchewan. It's warmed back up to around freezing this week, but last week we had highs of -20F, with windchills below -40 at times. Four days in a row I had to stuggle with thawing out frozen cattle watering systems. I sure hope we don't get a repeat of that, but as was mentioned above, still a lot of winter to go!

Think cold weather kills off the bugs? Try telling that to someone who has wintered in the far north! Way more bugs up there in the spring and summer then anywhere in the south!
