Concertone-- What did I buy?

You know ya'll are scaring me with all this negative feedback on Concertone. Our stereo works O.K.,you sometimes have to push the buttons twice and the sub will shut off if you turn the volume up to 40. It comes back on when you reset the stereo. We haven't had a chance to test the DVD since the monitor doesn't work. New monitor is on the way from the dealer. It was bad on the lot. Does anyone have anything positive to say or should I start saving for a new system? Gotta have tunes!!!

That I can recall, no one has ever had much good to say about the Concertone . On the other hand, maybe you lucked out and the latest models are OK. The fact that you monitor was dead on the lot is not what I would call a positive indicator of quality. BTW - I had the same problem, among others.

The concertone in our old 2004 Wildcat 27RK worked perfectly for us without any problems whatsoever.
The concertone that is in our new 2008 Wildcat 28RKBS hasn't caused any problems yet either. I like the new concertone because of all the additional features such as DVD player, weather radio, TV tuner, etc.

The greatest weakness of the concertone is the lack of information in the owner's manual. I had a keychain camera that had a bigger owner's manual than the concertone.

They've claimed the name of Concerjunk.

My first worked very well except for volume setting #1, it was too load.
FR replaced it when it was back at the factory for other issues. The new one works great. Only problem, the back lighting on button #8 does not lite up.
Of source, that's no biggie. As long as everything else works, I'm satisfied.

I musta got ripped off with a lower model...
I've got no TV tuner or DVD...

It's a Concertone though. So far, everything is working normal.
I can't for the life of me see where to hook up an iPod to it...except that black cord on the back...

Oh well...it works with my FM Transmitter.

Mine failed by the second camping trip. Audio would cut out completely. Change TV channels a dozen times, suddenly works again. Change the channel again, audio goes out again. Argh!

Yea it's just a camper, but it's a BRAND NEW CAMPER. Still making payments. Replacement Concertjunk is $500. RVW was great, and quickly swapped out my stereo. New one seems to be working fine, but one button backlight isn't working (no big deal).

The one in my buddy's 04 Rockwood died last year. CD/DVD player quit.

Nice that it was designed to do so much, shame it's so poorly made. Even the cheap Chinese knock-off stuff is pretty good today.

The good news is it is easy to replace.

My concertone is working fine but one has to hold down the buttons pretty long for reaction. The radio is weak and does not even get WWL which is one of Americas clearest channel, especially at night. I like the outdoor speakers and the ability to turn them on or off. I also like the surround sound I can get when viewing DVDs. I like the fact that it pushes a subwofer pretty good. Like that bass!!!

Welcome to FRF.

I have an 06 24RL.
Other then going into the back of it and re-wiring the speakers so Left is Left/Center is Center etc. etc. mine has always worked very well.
I also adjust the volume levels for the speakers, now the surround sounds better then it did initially.

The 5th also has the exterior speakers, I like them but do not use them a whole bunch. Silly part is that one speaker is blocked when the door is left open, oh well.

Cheers
John
