CONFESSION-what are your RV sins!?!

O.k., I’ll start...forgive me father for I have sinned. Recently, I have purchased things from Camping World...and I liked it!

Not a sin. If you really need something and can't wait to order someplace else and they are close, go for it. I have never had a problem. Their prices are not always the best. But, if you need and they are there, who cares. Nobody pays my bills but me!

My sin occured about 7 years ago. It started 6 months earlier by parking too close to a raised deck. I was really proud of myself at the time. When it got time to pulling it out I just couldnt get things lined up to pull it out straight and eventually scraped up the side a bit from the wheel well back. I knew what was happening, at least subconsciously, and I pulled anyway. In hind sight, I should have unhooked, taken a 20 minute break and tried again. Accidents happen bit when things aren't working, it's much better to take a break. Shame...

Tried to go through center lane of toll booth to save time. Clipped passenger side mirror.

Forgot that a class A motorhome doesn't turn like a car and learned at the same time that the cart corrals at Costco are permanently anchored to the ground. I now have a nice 5ft long silver strip down the (caved in) side of the motorhome, ouch.

It would only be a sin if you bought your camper from them on a 50 year loan!

I had a fight with a tree when backing into a spot. Ripped 3 feet of the rubber roof. The tree won this time

Hi,

I had my fiver in the driveway, installing my solar system. I was so pleased with myself about what an easy time I had doing the job, that when I hooked the truck back up, I neglected to latch the fifth wheel hitch.

Sort of eased out of the driveway, and when I gave it a little bit of fuel, kerwhoopmh, the hitch disengaged and dropped the trailer on the side rails of the truck.

Walked back to the house and called in to my wife, "Could you come out here -- I need a little comfort and moral support."

Live and learn...

My sin was not knowing about FROG when we bought the trailer - based on the truck's tow rating. You guessed it! It was way too much trailer for the truck.

Last campground on the last trip of last season. I was tired and backing into a tight spot with 35' trailer. I had a mental lapse and changed my game plan at the last moment. Forgot all about a tree on my blind side. I caught the awning and ripped it off the trailer. $11,000 worth of damage to side of trailer. Insurance company paid off, but I haven't seen the latest renewal yet. I might be in for a big surprise!

This should get real interesting. I am going to get a 6 pack, sit back and take it all in.
NO I am not confessing my sin(s). I will end up in “RV Hell” first.

Confessions by category...

Camping World... hardly ever unless on 40% or more off... I hardly ever go as nearest decent store is 150 miles away. Bargain bins at CW are the best!!

Accidents... couple of "no damage" uhhkk-oohhhs and one minor "mystery" scratch on the tail of the old unit. Never did know how it got there. Obviously I brushed something. New unit has pinto bean sized dent head high on street side... no idea?

My biggest confessions would be.. 1. I think I care more for the RV than most things..DW says it's "my baby." 2. I secretly scope out stuff to buy a lot..even at work. 3. I secretly buy most stuff 4. All my thoughts for time off include the RV 5. I told the DW don't buy me anything for Christmas...yet I bought stuff and told her thank you as it was just what I wanted. 6. My worst confession.. I to do less maintenance than I should, but I am steady thinking of fun stuff I want to do.

I am an early riser so around 4:30am I go around the campground and fold in everybody's steps. When I get back to the camper I pour myself a tall stiff drink and sit out on my patio and just wait and listen. It usually takes 20-30 minutes before you hear the first scream but then after that everybody starts coming out of their trailers to see whats happening and then that just starts a domino effect. I am surprised the language some of those campers use at such an early hour. Definitely showing no respect to the other campers.
So my camping sin would be I wait until around 5:00am before I have my first mixed drink....CHEERS!!

I dented my rain gutter and RV ladder by backing into the driveway unaided not once, but twice!

Sin #1...not learning my lesson the 1st time.

Sin #2...not asking DW for help backing in. (According to DW.)

Had a younger group couple sites down from us a couple years ago. Like to play the steel washer game till 3-4 in the morning. 1 trailer and about 5 tents on the same site. After a brief T-storm a large puddle of water sat on the road in front of their site. I drove thru it, hugging the edge as best I could and about 15 mph faster than I should. It's amazing how far water can travel when you hit it....Just Right.

Backed into the drive a few inches too far-- dented the corner of the MH.

Give in to the temptation of Camping World /West Marine a little too often-- but, what the heck.

Ok I hate to admit this years back the first time my Wife and I went to look at potential Travel Trailer's to purchase we were walking around on the lot and I asked her what I circled in the picture I have attached is.

She said I don't know do you...LOL So we both looked at each other and thought it has to have some function right ? I didn't want to seem like a dummy and ask so luckly the sales guy flipped open the door and latched it up we both looked at each other and laughed...To this day we still think about it
