Contact at Forest River for replacement VIN plate?

Hi y'all --

The VIN plate on my '05 Roo 23SS has become unreadable due to sun damage. Not surprising as the RVIA plate is just about gone as well.

Anyone got a contact at Forest River who can send me a new one?

Thanks,

-- Chuck

I’m going to bet that they are going to tell you they can’t do anything for you.

If that’s the case contact your state patrol, around here they handle home made trailer inspections. See what they have to say. May get issues anew vin.

Are you concerned about fading decal for the "look" of it or losing the ability to verify VIN for registration/resale purposes someday?

I do not know if you are aware but its possible the VIN is on a plate on the tongue as well. Usually a metal plate welded adjacent to the battery tray.

Or you can always get it off the title and/or registration, maybe the final bill of sale and engrave it onto the frame with a cheap engraver.

Poorly applied, easily removed VIN decals and stickers in the RV industry is one of my pet peeves. Unlike cars and trucks, there is no standardized VIN locations or methods to apply one.
Thieves love cargo trailers, once they peel off the VIN decal, identifying a stolen one becomes very difficult.
Yep, stamping a VIN into the tongue is a step in the right direction but not all manufacturers do this.
Yes, there are some hidden secondary VIN's on RV's and trailers.
I doubt any RV manufacturer will honor a request for a duplicate VIN decal for obvious reasons.
