Cooking Appliance Recommendation

Consider buying an All-Clad Pressure Cooker or All-Clad Electric Multi-pressure cooker. Both sell for $300 and are of top notch quality.

The multi-cookers and pressure cookers are maturing with improved safety and customization features.

I will probably end up buying both, but recently purchased the Multi cooker. The features are easy to use, reliable, and customizable. The customizable features are game changers as, for example, there are 7 levels of pressure vs high/low.

This is important because there are many reasons, like the size, kind, and amount of ingredients you use that you may want to make some adjustments for the second time around you cook a favored dish.

You can also adjust the programable functions.

For example, saute defaults to 260 degrees which is fine for inexperienced or nervous cooks. But, saute is best at 320 because 320 is when caramelization occurs.

Use both cooking gloves and long handled wood spoons to avoid burns.

My personal take is that it is way better than Fagor Lux and a strong notch or more about Breville.

Buy Emeril Lagasse's cooking with power for multi-cooking techniques. You can cook the recipes or just match the techniques in the recipes to the ingredients/intent on hand.

For example, his korean style beef stew can be used for many of your beef stew recipes and you can adjust the pressure to match the kind of meat used.

Basically, the multi cookers allow you to cook with more than one techniques. For a beef stew you can saute, then pressure cook.

Best of luck.

Note: when you read a cooking test of 4 multi-cookers they will try 3 recipes and say cooker a did best on this and cooker b did best of that.

With the all-clad you can adjust the defaults so you get best results on all your recipes.
