Counting down

Tomorrow I'm heading out and going to a campground that my parents had stayed at many, many years ago. This will be the first time I will be backing into a site but now is a good time to learn. My cousin & her family will be joining me with their "new-to-them" trailer. This is also the first time I won't be camping solo so I'm excited to have people to talk with.

It's going to be warm in the mid-upper 80s during the day & mid 50s at night. We might just end up at the pool or in the river before the end of the day.

I brought a new fresh water hose, the kind that coil up small. My other hose works fine but can be pita to roll up neatly & fit into the bin easily.

Also will be hanging some halloween string lights just to get into the spirit.

Sounds like you going to have a great time.

Don't worry too much about backing in. Take your time. Get out and look everything over before you start to back in. Be sure to look UP for low branches! Work out some simple hand gestures with whoever will be spotting for you. Keep your hand at the bottom of the steering wheel and turn the direction you want the trailer to go. I'm sure you'll do fine.

For some reason I'd never heard the 'keep your hand at the bottom of the steering wheel' trick before. Makes so much sense when. Think about it, but I never did. I'm a noob to backing a trailer and even a small camper can be a pita when you keep steering the wrong way. I'll remember this one!
