Crabs—>Hornets & Wasps—>Flies
We had a great time last night at our campsite with several campground neighbors enjoying steamed Chesapeake Bay crabs, grilled corn on the cob and all of the other good things that go along with crabs. Our entire night was insect-free, which was really odd.
This morning, however, we had an invasion of hornets and wasps as soon as the sun came up, with concentrations of huge gatherings of them on the gravel at every location where bushels had been placed and moved around to last night. We got rid of the hornets and wasps by spraying-down the gravel with water, but as soon as the hornets and wasps were gone came the invasion of the flies. They are everywhere!
One thing we made sure of last night was to clean everything that was touched by crab, then throw away all trash in the dumpster farthest away from us and other campers. There is no evidence or remnants of crab on our site.
How do I get rid of these flies? Please! Help!
Thanks,
Bruce
