Crap scared outa us.

Midnight last night while we were all asleep, the Jensen radio in our TT spontaneously turned on at max volume. My wife screamed and there's now a stain over where I sleep. I don't recall this feature being discussed during the PDI.

Phantom alarm feature?

I'm still trying to figure out why there would be the stain OVER where you sleep. Maybe in the back of my pj's.......

We've had the same problem with that radio in our I-Pod. The dealer couldn't find anything wrong and we're still trying to figure it out. If you learn anything about it, it would be helpful. Lots of luck with the "crap!"

I hear that to much. Stupid me I somehow set the alarm playing around with the radio one time, not fun waking up and I'm a little slow upstairs and it took awhile to figure out what was happening

The alarm went off one morning in the Cedar Creek and I forgot the stairs was was there, DW had to patch me up. I could not figure out why I was falling.

Mine has never come on at night, but the light from the display panel was too bright at night for me. I installed a simple push button switch on the power wire and solved that problem. It also eliminates the power drain when camping off grid.
TIDE might help with the stains

Not a Jensen, but my Concertone radio would go on if it got hot inside the trailer...as above, resolved by installing a separate 12v switch, which also addresses the issue of slight battery usage when the radio is "off".

Auto Radio

We had a similar thing with our Jensen in our Wildwood. Only it kept coming on during the day. Well, I finally figured out that the thing had an alarm built into it, and, somehow, somebody accidentally turned it on!

Had the same situation a few years ago with the outdoor system in our Minnie. We decided it had to do with humidity and kept large dessicant bags (6 inch long commercial grade like gun collectors use) locked in the entertainment compartment full time. Don't know if we were right or wrong about it but it was the day the midnight music died!!

My stereo system in our unit has a timer like an alarm to come on like a old clock radio, had it happen a few times until I finally figured out how to turn it off. Check for that, kind of like a reverse sleep timer.

I have a couple of portable radios that do that. The default alarm time is Midnight. It is easy to inadvertently push the alarm set button while handling the radios. I wonder how many people set their alarm for Midnight on purpose?

We have had too many Midnight alarms but not at full volume.

I wonder if your radio also defaults to full volume. I have a receiver in my living room that does that after a power failure.

You need to look for a midnight stalker walking around the campground with a remote in his hand. Don't ask me how I know this trick.

Download the manual and you will find directions for setting the alarm and the light brightness as well as all the other features. The light has 3 levels plus off.

We've had ours do the same thing, it's always in the middle of the night. Damn, it's enough to give you a heart attack!
