D@m$ login timeout

Can somebody change the timeout for being able to stay logged in??? PLEASE??? I had major surgery last year, and suffered 15 strokes, and left my left arm somewhat useless. Therefore I type slowly with one hand. I realize some of my post are long, but to get timed out in 10 minutes or less is RIDICULOUS!!!! After I have spent my time replying, I then hit "post" and I get something about don't have permission, just to find out I have been logged out while typing. Please do something. I know it doesn't bother most folks, but it is a pain in the ***** for me, and maybe a few more with a poor wireless connection in a campground. 20 minutes is all I ask.

is there a "remember me" or "stay logged in" option when signing into the forums?

I took a look at the settings - you were right, it was very short. The time out has been extended. Be sure to click the remember me button when you log in. You will automatically be logged out 60 mins after your last page change on the forum.

Thanks for extending the timeout. I thought the the "remember me" was to keep your login info on your computer so you wouldn't have to type it.

Guess I'll go read the "help" section and see what it says.
Thanks all.

I have no idea why, but I never get 'logged out', even from day-to-day, and I shut my computer down every night. I wish I knew why I don't have to login.

When you click the "remember me" box the website sends a cookie
to your computer. Each time you shut down and then return, it
checks the cookie and lets you back in without logging in.

IF you leave the computer ON and it's just sitting idly on the website,
you will apparently be automatically logged out after 60 minutes
of inactivity.
This never happens to me either because I normally don't leave
my PC just sitting ON and the browser open to this site.
IF I do that, my PC shuts itself down to standby after 30 minutes.
Apparently my PC was timing out before the website so I don't
have to log in either.
Maybe you are in the same situation?

windrider, I hope you have a complete recovery from your surgery and strokes.

I didn't know that about the "remember me" button either. Sometimes when doing a long post, I will do a copy and paste occasionally so I don't have to start over if I get logged out. And sometimes I forget to do that, and than is when expletives start flying.

I will start doing the remember me button......if I can remember.
